Silverbrew
This groundbreaking series that evolves beyond the Rephlex amateur aesthetic and moves into audiophile sound quality and composition. The beginning of the higher resolution and tone concept techniques that became the Colundi sound.
Keel
There was a time when Astrobotnia was taken as another parallel project of Richard D. James. I guess this aura of mystery was inevitable for a young and unknown artist who presented such an original work to an electronic scene avid for some sort of identification with the masters. But the truth is another. When this LP appeared, Aleksi Perala had already reached the vertex of the electronic scene socalled 'braindance' (kind of spatial and ethereal drill'n'bass). His albums are memorable (esp. 'Part 1' and 'Wasted Sunday', this one under the pseudonym 'Ovuca'). His music, usually playful but always creating a tensive depth in the listeners' experience, changes tonalities in this album, becoming darker and I would say almost solemn. The rhythmic part is simply devasting with its hyper-rapid accellarations, which are always under Perala's expressive control. This record is a true gem, whose sound goes far beyond the limitative labels which have been imposed on it (e.g., 'IDM'). This is an album NOT just for Warp/Rephlex/Planet-mu fans, but for anyone who can have an interest in enlarging the musical frontiers of their imagination.

You are so correct. I will never forget my first listen to the 3 works he released. It was awe inspiring and left you with a sense of warmth, but also alienation. I still can't truly understand how it impacted me, but I know that I liked it.
