I remember seeing Aswad along side Linton Kwesi Johnson at the Lyceum early 80's, the following morning Ipurchased this album.What a serious rendition of dub taken from the album New Chapter.

This is indeed, "A New Chapter Of Dub", without peer. This album has hit beyond the highest potentials of Dub Reggae music, with absolute precision and quality. Not an echo or effect is out of place throughout the entire album, and I was left fixated and obsessed with the track, "Zion I". That track alone would be worth it, but the rest of the tracks, like "Ghetto In The Sky", and "Dub Fire" are also incredible. This is, without doubt, a must have album.

watching to future

This release was one of the first UK "Dub" releases to utilize tape and digital echo on a horn section ala Miles Davis in the big new UK Reggae Roots sound. The combination of the echo horn section and the outstanding vocals made this release a musical tour de force melding into the trends of Synth/Electronica and Dancehall vocals. This new "stylee" seemed to excel in sweet musicality balanced with big bottom dub which influenced many other artists to follow suit. The trick was to get the echo to match the beat without mushing up the mix, and the Dubmasters had this down.

Fenrinos

This is one of the finest dubs to ever emerge out of roots reggae scene of the 70's and 80's. This album may be one of the very best examples of the direction dub music was to take in the near future. Many producers say that this album alone inspired their dabbling with modern electronic dub.
The vocal album that this was derived from was one of Aswad's finest achievments. But when they got into the studio for the instrumental remixing, they found a whole new level for New Chapter of Dub. Absolutely essential for reggae and dub fans alike !
