This is the third part of Billy Cobhams Drum N Voice series. Just like the previous parts took Cobham also this cd on in Milan. He is assisted by Novecento, a well-oiled machine that easily switches between (electronic) funk, jazz and rock. Muscular fusion so that the groove is at least as important as the free improvisation. Cobham is an excellent drummer, and it is his merit that each number has a solid foundation. It is nice and sing for a variety of familiar voices. So makes her appearance in the Chaka Khan loom heaving Alive where her layered vocals from all crevices of the speakers seem to come. Also, Brian Auger delivers a positive contribution. He lifts the opening track Electric Man up with whooping vintage keys work. Other guests on this album are Gino Vannelli, John Scofield and Alex Acuna.
