Comments to album Bob Dylan & The Band - The Basement Tapes
Akirg
In 1967 Bob Dylan was recovering from his much-discussed motorcycle accident. In that time he made in various houses dozens of rough demos with The Band, a group of Canadians who had accompanied him in 1965 on are also much-discussed first electric tour. And the fans and critics continued to talk, because the informal recording sessions formed a fascinating part of Dylan's oeuvre. The songs leaked out and were illegally distributed on the first massively popular bootlegs. A number of songs produced other artists such as The Byrds and Manfred Mann hits on. Eight years later became part still issued on the double album The Basement Tapes (1975). The Baker mixed bag drew on the rich source of the American tradition and influenced rootsy singer/songwriters and americana-bands. Dylan and The Band were in top form and made a handful of classics (I Shall Be Released, Million Dollar Bash, This Wheel's On Fire), but also made a lot of fun with funny covers. In 2014 many more sessions were officially released in a box with six CDs and a slightly more modest Demir. Yet handsome for recordings that were made with cheap equipment and probably never were intended for the general public.
