Brilliant - It's A Man's Man's Man's World FLAC

This is a truly odd release. According to Bill Drummond, who was there with the band, this introduced them all to new production techniques that would ultimately lead to the KLF, the Orb and Youth's psy-trance output. So it's best described as somewhat embryonic. The first track fits somewhere into the post-industrial/pre-Balearic period of interesting experimentation, it's reminiscent of some of Fini Tribe's early material. Then the title track, an inverted cover of James Brown's sexist anthem (with June on vocals), is strangely pedestrian given SAW's more Hi NRG stuff around this time. The extended mix is more of the same and then the Mad Professor rips it all up and puts it back together in a dub mix that's really dub.
