Buscemi seems to return to his faster roots here on IN SITU. "Gusta Mi Magla Padnala" throws in the breaks early and furious, while "Couleurs" drenches your ears in jazz house. For those who prefer his Brazilian influences, "Sigo Meu Camino" should sate those desires. That's not all he throws in: "Dream Catcher" has a Baltic feel to it, while "L.O.V.E." seems to have some Basement Jaxx influence in its omnivorousness. "Free 4 So Far" has a shimmering tech-house gloss to it. "Mando Eu" mixes those Brazilian vocals with an acid 808 line -- an odd combination, to be sure. Similarly, "Trepa! Trepa!" flirts with funk carioca, even if it doesn't go all the way. That's not the only oddity, however: "Bal-a-Clavas" has a rumble that sounds as if it's going to go hardcore at any moment. You can feel Buscemi stretching in different directions, even if he's not quite there yet.
