Don't know anything about these, except they were supposedly quality Dutch 70's jazz fusion. Well, the LP was certainly released in Holland, but the band actually seem to be British and American. But such was the state of jazz in Europe, when the most unlikely of alliances could be forged and often in a foreign country. Pete Robinson had played with Japanese musicians, in German bands and the great Swedish combo Ablution. Contraband however didn't quite satisfy me, although good in parts, it gets a bit too free jazzy for me. But, it was worth a listen. I think Weather Report fans will get more out of it than I did.

The keyboardist here is not the Peter Robinson of Brand X / Ablution / Stomu Yamash'ta / Shawn Phillips Band fame. Instead, it's Peter Manning Robinson who went on to play with Phil Woods and Freddie Hubbard & write film scores. He recorded a fascinating solo LP for Testament Records.
