This release steps into 2001 with another set of popular trance hits of the time. Honestly, like Transcendental Euphoria the year before, it is another step down. With that release it came down to some questionable hits, and the same applies to this, but with personal issues surrounding the mixing. Dave Peace mixed this, as he did the previous album and so he will again for the following two releases. His style is very average to me, and here it is evident and along with some distasteful inclusions, it ends up being mediocre.

The first CD has some deep trance mixed in with some cheesy hits. I enjoyed Sister Bliss Feat. John Martyn's Deliver Me (Original Mix), Citizen Caned's The Journey (Original), Tenth Planet's Ghosts (Vincent De Moor Remix), Jorio's Remember Me (Space Brothers Remix) and Angelic's Can't Keep Me Silent. The rest is either fair, or below average and it is a trend that will continue in many future installments for me personally. The first CD is only average at best, with those tracks I mentioned being outstanding.

Disc 2 contains more of the energy side of hard dance and trance, and there is actually a lot more to enjoy here - well at least in the first half. These include Mansun's I Can Only Disappoint U (Perfecto Remix), Joshua Ryan's Pistolwhip (Original Mix), Warp Brothers's We Will Survive (Club Mix), Cosmic Gate's Fire Wire (Club Mix) and then some very noteworthy mentions to Altitude's Nightstalker and Andy Ling's Fixation. I also liked Push's Strange World (2000 Remake), but other than that it is again very average.

Overall, True Euphoria simply does not meet my expectations as a whole but there are definitely some good songs in there to choose from. The next release would improve upon the formula a bit, with more quality songs.
