5* for Cerebral.... alone, perhaps the most under-celebrated trance track of the 90s.

Page 004 first track - Given Flowers - 4U, is the stand out track for me..continuing the journey through whichever land your brain imagines..mix all these tracks together in whatever order suits and sit back listen and drift away to neverland.

First, I agree with djhysterical, the top notch track here is Cerebral Ascendance. Sends me on a happy cloud. Starts off real quiet and builds up and up with the melody getting louder and louder so you can't resist that ascension, truly a feel-good one !
But I want to highlight the incredible level of programming on all tracks here, from 1992 (imagine the technical limitations back then), I doubt there's a lot of competition on the complexity & variety happening here, really a fantastic piece of electronic music!

I remember Derrick May playing 'cerebral ascendance' at Pure in Edinburgh around 1993. Wonderful moment.

I can agree that Given Flowers is a great track, but the best track for me is M.D.M.A. - Celebral Ascendance. I can listen to that track again and again and again and... :)

This double 12" is a real treat, and Given Flowers is the best track. It's a 7 minute long track, made in a way only Eric Nouhan can. The track starts with magical string and cute vocals and from that moment you're dragged into an adventure. The track slows down, speeds up, changes moods but it always remains a whole. It has wonderful basslines, melodies and pumping beats, all presented individually in wonderful breaks, and all melting together fluidly in the end. A real masterpiece from a remarkably talented producer who has a sound of his own. This is a track that tells a story without words, and its up to everyone's imagination to fill in the content.
