So with this record, the new school lo-fi dance music movement peaked, and after that, it kinda fell from grace. Thousands of bedroom producers, with a backround often in tech house and Beatport deep house style, started to imitate the sound and flooded the scene with mediocre tunes and so the lo-fi movement was being called out as a fad and kind of lost its credibility and underground rep. Which kinda sucks, because when lo-fi house/techno started to emerge in the 2010's it was really one of the best things in a long time, it was a fresh and exciting scene to discover for any underground dance music fan. When artists like Mall Grab, Ross From Friends, DJ Boring, Palms Trax, DJ Seinfeld, Subjoi, Adriyano hit big with their lo-fi dance hits, a lot of people distanced themselves from the lo-fi scene, with entire online communities drying up. But there is still hope. True lo-fi house music has been with us since the very beginning of house music, and it won't go anywhere. Just ignore the fad and stay true to your roots. Let the vibes guide you.

Why has "You" to be so dirty, lo fi influenced? I'd like to hear that with clear sound...
Mavivasa
Many tracks in the Lo-Fi could really have been something had they dropped all the grit. I get you.
Forcestalker
As someone else (kind of) stated in the comments, the "Winona" track and imagery heavenly reminds of Vaporwave / Mallsoft aesthetics. So either the producer is not really new or he is new and did a great (?) job by copying the Vaporwave and transferring it into the Deep House.
Voodoolkree
If you can do the same, my money is waiting here for you.
Winenama
Samples 'Melon City' from Dream Carpets - Interior Fountains I think . . .
Samugor
yeahhhh!!! i noticed that d d d . d
Mautaxe
Oh that's true but still don't think it samples directly Melon City. (but yeah maybe it does xD so I guess only the producer himself can tell us)
Bajinn
The water sound fades out halfway through Melon City. I'm fairly certain that track was sampled for Winona
Mr_NiCkNaMe
It doesn't, but it's just the same chords (in diferent octaves I think) with a very similar synth. If sampled Melon City you could hear that water sound from Melon City a bit, but there isn't in winona.
Winotterin
I Just received my copy. This Ep is a stand out! I love the sample and the chords and the drum loop and the 303 baseline it just all works so well. I don't think it's hyped. Haters gonna hate.
Vudozilkree
After collecting deep house n what not for nearly 25 years now I try not to get sucked into the hype and to be honest I never ever watch YouTube so that helps But I have to say the A side is a pretty good standout deep house cut that is very modern, yes I agree in it's production it's meant to sound old and dusty I guess ,but regardless a good track is a good track and I love the Winona sample I really do I can see this being a collectible record in time to come as long as they don't go and over press the fuck out if it
Faezahn
Why the fuck is this record so popular? Terekke circa 2011 vibes and you all shit yourselves...
Brightfury
Terekke was sublime in 2011. I'd be happy to hear more house music as beautiful as that. Your swipe at this record comes across as praise in my book.
Netlandinhabitant
Nigel my MAN! Hurry up and get here...I'm making plans for ya.
Nkeiy
thanks modano182. this is your friend neil. see you soon
Saintrius
YouTube promotion and visibility therein...... approach seems to have worked plus slight novelty value of subject and name must just have been the perfect recipe !?
Fordrelis
I'm sure you can find Terekke on Youtube again, you sound fundamentally lazy to me?
Gathris
The released date keeps getting delayed...no released date as of now on Redeye.
Der Bat
shipped this week. . . . . . . .
Unirtay
The flipside "You" is the better track here in my opinion.
Xig
I agree. (Just some words here to get over 10)
Via
Most definitely, "You" is the shining star on this one.
Bluecliff
I agree 100%. I think a lot of the hype of the Winona track is because of her Stranger Things part that boosted her career again.
spacebreeze
Nomen est omen. Hyped on youtube = mediocre stuff. This equation does it for me since youtube exists. Same here. Nothing special, rather average variations on trendy Breakbeat and House structures. Oh but thats not completely right. To be more precise, what realy annoys me is the repetive buzzing noise on A side. it sound like the vibration alert of my cellphone. Its the same noise you hear when people where to dump to shut there phone during lectures.
Tiv
Aren't we supposed to comment on pressing quality ect here? Everybody can listen to the track on youtube and decide for themselfs whether they like it. So nobody needs your bullshitting :)
Samut
Damn right about that phone noise I can't listen to it now as it is just too repetitive, extremely annoying and wish he had been a bit more imaginative with it,shows a lack of production maturity
FRAY
It's a record that I would just buy to flip for money, I can hardly play anything like this mediocre in my life.
Bine
I can't understand why this awesome record is getting such average reviews. You have a lush chilled deep house track on side A and a more different clubbier breakbeat affair on side B.
Malhala
I would guess it may be because of a backlash from people tired of getting this video on Youtube in the suggested videos' list.
Flas
500k views on youtube video, how is that possible? uh
Perilanim
Because it's boring boring boring boring boring boring boring boring
Xava
Stranger things have happened ... ... ... ... ... ...
Jonide
yeah, except that didn't happen here, sometimes things are popular without money being thrown at them.
Runehammer
i don't know why...but Winona is a very good track...nice deep chord, good drum loop...and we have a track. The initial vocal is pretty enough
Cobyno
DJ Boring is from Melbourne and now lives in London. Hey Tristan!
Llathidan
It's terre thaemlitz right? I can't remember why I thought this...
Zieryn
No. It is not Terre Thaemlitz. (at least 19 words
Thabel
hahah no definetly not thaemlitz... not quite deep enough for her hehe
Berkohi
Ok, most has been said, but two facts : - the artist not a new incomer, it simply is not possible considering both the rare quality and boring nostalgia of the tracks - the video is not only "suggested for you" by youtube; it has been heavily promoted with money to reach 5000000 views in 15 days now who did that, Aroy Dee ?
Adoraris
I gave him his first interview... Trust me I would have recognized him if he was someone famous mate! ;) So YES, it's possible, I feel sorry for you...
Castiel
ninis2192 two facts Sorry dude, but both of these facts are wrong
Quashant
Pretty ace A side. Lotsa hype with this one so far but hey that's the nature of things nowadays. Not too sure how this "newcomer" DJ Boring has over 300k views on YouTube since a September upload. Definitely the pseudonym of a producer who's hot with the kids nowadays. Now I do think it's easy to hate Winona and call it "boring" but I think it does job right. Every year one of these tracks comes out that doesn't really do anything too different but somehow seems to get it all right... there's almost a familiarity to these kinds of records that gives everybody a great deal of comfort. This is 2016's entry. Now with all the hype and exposure, be sure to watch the copies skyrocket on here ;-)
Sudert
That's the thing with Winona. Most of the people I know listen to it, find the chords too familiar, the rhythm too safe, the bassline just effective, but the track ends up growing on you a lot with time. This Dj Boring guy, part of that very interesting set of producers of really dreamy echo-y kind of house, does really have skills with acid lines. And actually the Winona sample is touching, in a "what's a girl to do" kind of way.The B side has another virtue... it keeps on with the tradition of uk electronica of looking to its past and it sounds uk garage, breakbeat, and of course deep house at the same time, with powerful hooks and the usual manipulated vocal samples. I don't know about the rest, but I am enjoying this trend as if I was rediscovering electronica again. As a side note, I am discovering all of these people through youtube channels and the awesome recommendation algorythm (how much data can google have about myself?). Smart way to create hype on a release.
Whatever
Haven't heard the flip yet but the A-side is quite good. Not anything revolutionary, but carries on a really good vibe throughout and the vocal sample is quite special. Would sound wonderful in some sets...
Gunos
Boring by name, boring by nature. No doubt it'll be on here for £50 in a few weeks.
Adorardana
nothing to say / nothing to sayyou don't get the feeling with .... who cares?
Buridora
i bet this is Mall Grab or someone else from Australia..nothing new tbh and like has been said in the comment before a bit overused but still will get one copy, good track to open a set
Inerrace
agree - same same but a little bit different. new type of house heads i guess but definitely over used these days... would not surprised if this is a mall grab alias
caster
He is definitely someone new mate I swear. He just has some skills... ;)
Kajishakar
stumbled upon this randomly in youtube and really dig it; great track on the A-side... ; sure, kind of generic vibe to some extent, perhaps a bit overused, sure... but vocal sample does it form me... B-side ain't bad either! great 2-tracker imo...
