The international reception of the previous Djosos Krost 12”s has been very positive indeed; Great reveiws in UK, Germany and US, airplay on very important radio stations like BBC Radio 1 and numerous highly respected DJ’s as firm supporters! But it’s just now that Djosos Krost is about to come to their right for real in the shape of their debut album ’No Sign Of Bad’.
The album is produced by Djosos Krost core-men Pharfar and Filip and seasoned by the Djosos Krost musical collective; the inner circle of musicians and vocalists who contribute to the Djosos output –people with roots as far apart as Jamaica, Manchester, Barbados, Eastern Europe, Russia, etc. most of them now jointly based in Copenhagen and all part of a burgeoning community.
The style of the album is electronic DUB and reggae! Sounds in any guise from da roots to electro, adding a cold Nordic electronic sound to the warm Jamaican vibes! The album is danceable but even more so it’s listenable... a diverse yet integrated album.
Pharfar and Filip have roots in rock and techno music for Filips part -playing in prize-winning Danish rock band LudoX as well as producing on his own as Electricá and Turbotito, he recently remixed the Japanese newage legend Kitaro. Pharfar´s background is producing hip hop, dub, reggae and ragga noteworthy Bikstok Rögsystem which is currently blowing up big time in Denmark! and finally giving ragga style its deserved breakthrough here!
Djosos Krost was the remixers behind Junior Senior’s 'Move Your Feet' in the remix that was initially picked up by DJs like Francois Kevorkian and Norman Cook and created the hype that morphed into the massive crossover hit ’Move Your Feet’!
The group plays live on many occasions this Summer and the set up is: Pharfar in front on stage on drums and backing vocals. Tuco on lead vocals and strange body moves EMO on lead and backing vocals as well as keyboards and dub efx. Daniel Muschinsky on keyboards and melodica Jacob Mortensen on bass -on special occasions there’s special guest vocalists like Jah Bobby and Little T just like Filip Nikolic travels from LA and participates in the stage performance some times.
