Doukasa
Having listened to this album twice through now, I would say that it is well worth finding for collectors of 60's pop. Greenwich's voice is great and the production on this album is fantastic. None of the songs are quite as memorable as her best work with her former songwriting partner/husband Jeff Barry and Phil Spector (only one song at the end is credited to them as well), but they're still overall higher level quality 60's girl pop as you would expect from someone of her caliber. Half of the album is covers, and the two songs that start each side are the best in my opinion. "I Want You to Be My Baby" is a rocking cover of the Louis Jordan jump blues tune, and "The Sunshine After the Rain" is the best Greenwich original. If you're looking for a good, fun time kind of 60's album that isn't the same stuff you hear often this is a great one to pick up when you see it. This is especially a must-find for anyone like me who is obsessed with all things girl-groups, Phil Spector, Brill Building pop, 1967-68 pop, etc. A rare delight!
