Just a couple of duds here, it’s really a fine album , elvis fully engaged . Nice mix of uptempo r and b and country country country . A wonderful country -folk is “if I were you “ is here and a sincere rendition of the gospel , “only believe “.
The middle of the road deals like “ heart of Rome” are terrific , too.
Elvis was talked into recutting his 1966 global hit , the slow ballad “Love letters “.
His voice is much better here but the instrumentation is a bit ....heavy .
Don’t believe the critics .
Buy this CD!
Not sure the FTD deal is really necessary w all the outtakes .
