The full version of "Pump" is one of my favorite songs of that era. Here's a review from "For The Airwaves" from 1986:

"When we lost Wire, we lost an institution. Fret not though, Wire fans, life goes on. He Said is the latest incarnation of Wire alumni. Lewis takes the reins on this, the second release under the moniker, while Gilbert, who appeared on 'Only One I' is nowhere to be seen. 'Pump' is a slow, burning ballad with eerie undertones. This is no ordinary ballad, taking into consideration these lyrics: 'Pump fresh blood through these hardening veins'; rather a strange paradox. It evokes visions of two lovers walking along a beach on a beautiful, deserted island, cloaked in a warm, dense fog, lost in time and space. As interesting as it was, their last experimental single just didn't gel. 'Pump' is much more directed. 'It's not your basic daydream,' he said." (review by Philip Puckett)
