Here is Hovie Lister working his magic re-commissioning another version of "his" sensational Statesmen. Recorded "Live" at The Joyful Noise Supper Club in East Point, GA, in 1979, with this "small house" warm sound gives the venerable Rosie Rozell a new time to shine on some old favorites. They are joined by a great lead singer in Buddy Burton, Ed Hill (of later Stamps Quartet Fame), at baritone, and Tommy Thompson rounds this group out with an extremely good bass voice that recreates the sound that made the Statesmen "Sensational." If you want a live album that embodies the soul of the Statesmen overall, this would be a great choice, IF, you can find one!
