Inigo Kennedy - The Secondary FLAC

A1 is the stuff that will make you leave blood, sweat and tears of joy all over the dance floor. Harsh, rude UK mechanicals that leave no stone unturned and no soul cold.
A2 is more experimental, with shuffled percussion, a spacey futuristic loop and a mid-section to die for: sounds like Inigo was kicking it live with this one, due to all the cuts and edits, and effect tricks he pulls off – love it!
B1 is another nervous techno bomb, with off-kilter drive and incredible piercing synth stabs changing every few bars – so demented it hurts. One of those situations where pain coincides with pleasure, I guess. Hits hard on the nerves, does wonders in clubs. Reminds me of his releases on ZET, only difference is that this one doesn’t rely on percussion as much, yet the arrangements are breathtaking.
B2 takes a surprise turn and delivers a laid back tribal techno groover. Inigo disguises under his own Reducer moniker (under which he recorded some serious techno artillery), and offers a hypnotic minimal tune which would fit nicely in the Purpose Maker catalog, or serve as the perfect track to mark the end of a set.
Bottom line: like all, and I do mean all of Kennedy’s early releases, this one is very worth checking out.

Little intimate confession time: on the end of side A & B there is a locked groove, containing a loops and percussion from the beloved A1 tune from Inigo’s "Preliminary statements EP", which has been high up on my wantlist for years now, and I’m still of luck… However, with these locked grooves, I can at least temporarily fool myself (and others)! Seriously now, both of them are highly usable and recommendable in any serious hard techno set.
Now, if I could only get my hands on that elusive first release on Asymmetric. Sigh… weep…

Ohh yeah, Inigo's back with his second release on his own label, Asymmetric. Expect more of the same throbbing, twisting, dark pulsating sound from #1 in #2, but this time the *filtered* track is blessed with a little more straightforward'ness than #1. So WTF does that mean? Shit, I dunno...it just doesn't fade in/out as much, so it makes it that much easier and better to use IMO. Inigo's got an amazing sound going right now that definately stands out over the rest. Four tracks in all, 2 locked grooves. If you really liked #1 or want something OTHER than the same tribal stuff spewing forth lately, then grab this release. Hell, grab two just for the locked grooves themselves, since you can almost recreate his first release with this record (well almost). Work those grooves! Check it! Highly recommended!
