Look it's not Jaco at his very best.. But, it's damn good. Less soulful? Maybe? But, it's 1986 and shred is about to rule the day. There is plenty of that here. With the exception of some ill advised, I guess you'd call it "singing?" The disc is chopped full of fantastic playing by the whole band. Some self indulgence, maybe unnecessary in hindsight? But, monster versions of some familiar and unfamiliar tunes. If you can pick this up for a fair price? It's well worth it... Unless you buy Jaco's stuff for singing! Or, hooting or whatever it is he does into the Mic on "Birdland!" Get it. Enjoy it. Again, if for a fair price.
