This remarkable piece of musical history has been brought to light 20 years after the event – Jimi Hendrix's triumphant return to the States in 1967 at the Monterey Pop Festival. D.A. Pennebaker, the director and Alan Douglas, Jimi's producer, have made this film from the original footage shot during Hendrix's incredible performance at the festival which marked the beginning of The Summer of Love. Hendrix played guitar with his teeth, behind his head, with the P.A., he played it: "The only way I can do it".
