Kristine W - Don't Wanna Think FLAC

Finally, after 17 long years, the die-hard fans of Kristine W can now enjoy a digitally remastered release, in both MP3 and WAV formats, of the long lost and shelved 4 x 12" Champion Records promo... and then some. If you love Classic NYC & UK House from the 90's or are just discovering it for the first time, then these legendary rare tracks are an absolute must.

I find that after listening to "Junior's Factory Instrumental", however, that it's an instrumental version of the still currently unreleased full vocal "Club Mix"and a similar "Club Dub" (mis-labeled Club Mix but with only the chorus vocals) from the "The Single E.P." that was once available on PerfectBeat.com. The DJ Pierre style horn samples, among other things, don't match the style or sounds of the "Factory Mix" or the "Factory Dub" at all, which leads me to think Champion may have mis-titled the mix name. I imagine only Junior himself would know the correct name of the mix. These remixes were produced during the time period (1994/1995) when Junior would produce several standard "Club"/"Dub" mixes as well as separate "Factory" mixes of one song, which respectively differed in style and sound. Madonna's "Bedtime Story", M People's "Padlock" and Annie Lennox's "No More I Love You's" would be a few well known examples.

Nevertheless, it is definitely a huge plus to finally hear this rare instrumental again, along with "Junior's Tribal Dub", after only having heard them exclusively at his residencies. One wonders how many other countless mixes on DAT tapes are still sitting somewhere in the dark ("Junior's Club Mix" which was briefly streamed on Junior's MySpace page, "Junior's Don't Wanna Dub" (a shorter version of the "Club Dub") which was briefly streamed on the former JVM site, other Rollo, Sister Bliss mixes, a cappellas, bonus beats). Hopefully there will also be some new 2012 remixes for this release in the near future.
