"Veterans Songs" is the first studio album by the American Indian drum group "Lakota Thunder", recorded in Bismarck, North Dakota. An emotionally powerful album, "Veterans Songs" contains traditional Native American drum and vocal music. The songs are about veterans and warriors who fell in conflicts with and for the United States. This album is a good example of the thriving traditional music produced in Native American communities. The liner notes include a quote from Sitting Bull: "I was never the aggressor, I only fought to protect the children."
