Realistic

I think Ive heard that this issue uses the butchered remaster of Zep 2 done after Ludwig. Its best to be avoided as it sounds very drowned out and poor compared to the top cuts of this album.

Nagis

Got this copy recently from a local store, the drums are quite nice, silent overall very quiet press (you can specially tell on Moby Dick's quietest parts), but it feels very compressed, like all the sounds are very tight sorta speak, and the loudest parts can distort sometimes very heavily. Can't tell if is this pressing, the one I got or it's something of this album in particular.

Any thoughts on clipping in the "hottest" parts of tunes? I recently picked up a Japanese pressing, and hadn't listened on vinyl for decades. The bass and drums sound infinitely better than I recall, but the crescendos have more clipping than I remember. Maybe my ears are more refined now (or maybe I've become an old fuddy-duddy), but sections like the double time after Page's solo (cadenza) in "Heartbreaker" seem to clip quite badly. Is that true across all pressings because it was recorded too hot to begin with? Do other pressings manage the problem?
