My copy of this Sony reissue has a serious pressing flaw on side 2--the pitch shifts up and down quite noticeably. The stylus swings from side to side as the record spins. I second progfan97402's statement that this reissue is to be avoided.

I recently purchased a pressing that I added to Discogs (http://www.discogs.com/Museo-Rosenbach-Zarathustra/release/5129900).Does anyone know if Seven Seas only put out the gatefold version in 1981 or if they did any later pressings? My issue claims to be a Seven Seas pressing but it is not a gatefold as the original '81 version.Anyhow, the pressing is still recommended because the sound is absolutely fantastic!

If you're wanting to seek this album on vinyl, the 2009 reissue on Sony is to be avoided. The sound quality is terrible, rather muddy sounding. I don't have audiophile equipment, I own a Denon DP-23 turntable with a Grado Prestige Gold cartridge, and speakers I found at a thrift store and many of my other LPs, even the original LPs sound a lot better than this. So your best bet is find a reissue on Contempo or a Japanese reissue, or if you have the big money and lucky to find a copy, the Italian original on Ricordi. I was lucky to acquire the Italian original and was just in shock how much better it sounds than the Sony reissue. Only 1,500 copies of the Sony reissue were made. You expect something of much better quality for such a limited run.

Have you listened to the new 2018 version? https://www.discogs.com/Museo-Rosenbach-Zarathustra/release/12156826I haven't, but someone told me it was a bad pressing and that it was full of distortion especially in Side A, and since the new version is made by Sony I wonder if it could be a repress or it is using the same bad quality source from 2009, I know Sony likes to cut high and low frequencies and compress for vinyl when it comes to Argentinian rock reissues, by your review I think maybe that's what they did to the 2009 one, and maybe this one just uses that cut. I only have an unofficial release of this https://www.discogs.com/Museo-Rosenbach-Zarathustra/release/7585313 which all-in-all doesn't sound too bad (maybe it even sounds better than these Sony reissues), been looking for a Seven Seas of this but it is just too expensive and haven't had any luck finding a good gatefold or regular version at a more reasonable price, so I'm trying to find out any more information about this year's reissue.Cheers.
