Notes

The third EP by OJ's Beat Factory. Features a completely different tracklist than what was previously planned. Most of the songs are jazzy hip-hop and r&b joints between 65 and 115 bpm. Whether you're at home, in the car, or getting high... this album is for you. There's no reason why you shouldn't like these songs. If you don't, something's seriously wrong with you.

Stories behind the tracks:

1. Lips - Started off as a song that was built around a sample of the song that has the word "lips" in the title. After deciding that that version sounded well-mixed but overall cheesy (and not wanting to pay a sample clearance fee), I decided to remove the vocals and... voila! "Lips" was born.

2. On The Come Up - a chill-hop anthem. It didn't take very long to come up with the beat... in fact, the core concept was done in less than a half an hour. I figured that my talent must be increasing and I was therefore on the come up.

3. Memories - this is another song that was built around a vocal sample but I couldn't integrate it into the beat properly. Plus, it's an overused sample, so, again, i decided that the instrumental wouldn't suffer (and would, in fact benefit) from the vocal's removal.

4. Chillaxin' - classic old school r&b. Nice jazzy touch.

5. So Smooth - Originally called "Tryna Get U Home", this song wasn't even supposed to be on the album. The song that was supposed to be the fifth and final track hadn't been fully arranged yet, and, quite frankly, it was March 9th and I had ran out of time before I needed to submit the EP to my distributor. I had finished "So Smooth" about a week or so prior and I decided that it matched the overall vibe of the project, so it was subsequently included.
