The first few times I listened to this I considered the Space Rock and Post Rock genre tags an error, such was the incredible pull of the albums ambient thrust. Having now well aquainted myself with this release, rather than the negative connotations I associated with such labels, one must marvel at the quite extraordinary and rare feat this album manages to achieve.
The inital track and indeed the whole album is awash with high sounding ambiguous elements of instrumentation that begs to be listened to not as a sum of its parts but a full scale embracement of sound.
Guitars and Drums alike are judiciously processed and filtered to both add mystery and structure to the overall electronic and field recording style vibe; meshing like no other release I'm currently aware of.
Don't get me wrong, it's not a masterpiece that everybody must have missed, however this is a really really interesting, rewarding and recommended release.
