they went for anthem-level jams akin to the prodigy. you could say its not what some fans wanted, but taken for what it is, its a very good album, just not on par with their incredible debut.

Not an in depth review... This albums seems to be quite underrated. Looking at the stats of the master release, I see people who don't even own it putting multiples 1/5 rates. Frustrated jilted fans. I'm not taking any side on the Pendulum case, but I find it a bit silly and shameful considering I thought Discogs was a good source for rating averages with a reasonable amount of votes.I haven't paid much for this album, and for this reason I can enjoy it quite enough. An introduction track like Showdown represents for me a direct nose injection of Cayenne pepper while the last part of Midnight Runner reminds me of the feeling of a rainbow collapsing right on me. Having said that, I very rarely to never listen to this album straight in a row, often listening to tracks that hook me the most.

you couldn't be more right. a bunch of jungle heads who don't like rock often gave scathing reviews to this album. i mean, guitars!?!?! they aren't used to those things lol.sure, it's not as good as Hold Your Colour, but this album has it's own merits, specifically Granite.

I agree. at first I was somewhat disappointed with this album, but when I truly took the time to listen to it on a good stereo I realized that it is just as much a jewel as Hold Your Colour and Immersion.

Saying every single dnb release is the same is just plain ignorant. That mind blowingly foolish comment aside, I'd have to agree that something different is refreshing. And while I don't fall into the category of those that hate this album, it's important to note that different doesn't always equal good.
