I feel like I may be alone here but I'm a little disappointed with this release; it's not up to the same very high standard as Doomsday Afternoon or Snowtorch. Too much of the music feels like intentional nods to earlier releases (it's the final in a weird triptych of albums). Not a bad album by any stretch of the imagination but after waiting around 8 years perhaps my expectations were unduly high....
