Pressure Rise - Bamboo Lounge FLAC

The original is a glutinous fusion fest. Wah wah samples, flutes and a dash of Photek's oriental vibe but a lot less dark than Mr Parkes' visions. Has a vocal sample from "Good Fellas" or "Casino"? Punctuated by a great slashing string riff, the sample also used by Calibre I think but can't remember the track. Nice bass riff but much stiffer beat and groove than the re-mix on the flip. A cool tune but a bit over crowded in the arrangement to really hit home for me. Although it is less adventurous I love the Peshay remix. He strips it down, reveals the groove and brings up the glittering rhodes piano and funky double bass line. This is pretty much the best jazzstepper along with The Rhodes Tune and Kid Caprice but with a bit more raw funk than either of those tunes. Frank @ london school of sound

The vocal samples are from Goodfellas (It's the Billy Batts 'shoe shine' scene). The Bamboo Lounge is the main hang-out in the film (and real life), it's where the 'funny how' scene is rather than where Billy Batts actually gets his (that's Tommy's bar?)Can't quite place the double bass sample but it's familiar.
