"This performance of Shostakovitch 13th Symphony is the actual live concert performance recorded in Moscow on November 20th, 1965. Since then, the work has been banned in its original version and this recording is therefore of signal importance."

Australian WRC 2nd pressing variation. The sleeve design is unchanged from the first pressing, with the 1968 address combination and the two catalogue numbers on the back, as "(S/ME 2174) S/2494". On the green 'strobe' labels, "S-2494" appears at right on side 2, but is still at left on side 1 - Shostakovitch / Vitaly Gromadsky «Bass» / Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra And Male Chorus Conducted By Kiril Kondrashin - Symphony No. 13 has S-2494 at right on both sides [it was not unknown for WRC to use left-over labels from previous issues). Issued again in February 1971 - pressing variations, if any, unknown.
