South West Unit / Academic - Untitled FLAC

identified it's Jah Shaka - Verse 5, 7

Yer i'v allway's wanted to know what that reggae melody is. It's on 18" speaker - ragga twins right from the start with a simpal solid break & i love that tune. This is a top notch tune but i can't aford that kinda dosh.

Anyone remember name reggae melody used in Academic tune, starts at 2.00 min ? Or name soundclash with samples "Is this the champion sound, don't you know ? Everebodyyyy geeeet ruuuf, soholounge junglist" ?

I dont think that sample was taken from a soundclash, it's too loud and clear, the other chatting at the start does sound like a clash mc though, but i've not come across it yet

A1 & A2, both of which sound very similar (apart from an extra bass part on A2) are by South West Unit who have another release on this label. The other side is by Academic who as far as Discogs is concerned has only one other production, a remix of Bagga Worries - 'Ride The Punanny' which features on Jungle Hits Volume 1 here: http://www.discogs.com/Various-Jungle-Hits-Volume-1/master/45355As the other reviewer mentions (although I think he's actually refering to the AA side) his work on this release is immense and leads me to wonder whether he has any other releases worth hunting down that are currently unlisted on Discogs?

To me, only side A is important on this record. This one saves the (unfortunately) unknown producer a seat in "ragga style drum and bass" -heaven. Changing patterns, less repetition and a good amount of well placed effects are the keys here. It starts with a beautiful short intro, followed by a first load of drum war, in accompany of a heavy, thick bassline. Then, the voice shouts: "this is the champianson touchin down, everybody get ruuuuuff", which describes the rest of the track almost exactly.
