Steve Roach - Structures From Silence FLAC

This album is nothing less but sublime. It is not only a fundamental Steve Roach album, and my personal favorite (at least, so far; I haven't heard them all yet!) - it is also one of the best ambient albums of all time. It belongs to the timeless category, right next to Eno, Sylvian, Basinski, Budd, Biosphere... Every single time I put it on (usually in the morning, that's when it works best for me) it transports me somewhere else and helps to return with good spirit and hope of a good day. It's pure magic - it's sad and happy, melancholic and uplifting at the same time. If you don't know where to start with Steve Roach (and you have every right to be lost in his bottomless catalogue), this is where you start. I'd say, if you don't know where to start with ambient music in general - this is it. Some ambient records, including Roach albums, can often be "too much", or "not enough"; Structures From Silence is "just right", it is not only blissful in terms of music, but also very elegant in terms of its length and direction. The only flaw I can think of, if you can call it a flaw, is that it is not 100% representative of Roach's style - it has no tribal elements. But then, which one is?
