Comments to album Stevie Ray Vaughan And Double Trouble - A Legend In The Making

Great show, unfortunately the vinyl is low quality (lots of pops) and they didn't even make it a gatefold cover! Cheaped out!
Quashant
huh... My copy plays clean on my Audio Technica AT-LP1240. Perhaps it's your stylis?
Ndyardin
This double LP is fantastic! SRV and Double Trouble are in top form on this release.
Gogul
Anyone else have a bad vocal mix and echo on Side Two?
Worla
I have not noticed anything negative with this pressing. Maybe I lucked out.
Truthcliff
Update 2 - I am convinced these were "dirty pressings" cleaned side 3 twice. Still sounded bad. I got fed up and put a 70's lp on the table and it sounded the same as SRV! Cleaned my stylus and the 70's record sounded correct. I put the SRV back on the table and it sounded much better, but the further you listen the worse it sounds. The stylus is gradually picking up trash from deep in the grooves. Really needs to be deep cleaned.

Update - Take a look at the disclaimer on the back cover (I have never seen this on any other release). My side 3 was totally inaudible. After a quick cleaning with basic solution it was improved but still bad. I guess one would have to run this LP through a $1000 VPI cleaner to restore full fidelity.
Still In Mind
Checked my cables just in case, was fine. Def phasing issues especially on Mary Had A Little Lamb.
Jeb
Yes! Don't bother checking your cables this pressing is trash. I was pumped when I first heard the sound quality of this live show. Then I have skip on Voodoo Child - unacceptable- Followed by dropping out vocals and the presence on the cymbals are phasing in and out. Not worth the $ in my opinion. RSD is becoming a money grabbing joke.
Gom
Thanks WW, I'll re-check and test. However was only on a few track on Side Two which made me think might have been pressing.
Samowar
Is it possible that there is an issue with your speaker wires? I had this issue on a few of my Otis Redding pressings, but not on other records... I double checked all my wires, found out they were flipped, fixed them, problem solved
Dominator
Especially on Mary Had A Little Lamb?
