Stravinsky, Leonard Bernstein, New York Philharmonic - Le Sacre Du Printemps FLAC

This is my favorite recording of my favorite orchestral/classical music piece of all-time. It was composed almost 100 years ago yet it never fails to amaze me how modern and jarring this piece still sounds, especially when performed with the right kind of intensity. I'm very particular about what recordings I listen to since some don't quite capture the raw intensity that Stravinsky originally had in mind. This Bernstein NYPO recording from 1958 stands as one of the best performances of The Rite that I have heard and the stereo sound-quality is excellent for its time (aside from a bit of analog tape hiss of course). This recording is hard to find in digital form so I highly recommend checking it out if the opportunity arises.

So why isn’t it more widely available? I run into the later Bernstein recording all the time. I have yet to see this one.
