Side A of this excellent record begins with a very unique and well placed sample from the 90s Bruce Willis movie "The Fifth Element." I couldn't believe my ears when I heard how good the film score sounded at the beginning of this trance record, but it took me nearly a year to pinpoint where I had heard the sample before. The Fifth Element, Bruce Willis helps the quintessential being, Lelu, save earth by shooting the lifeforce at an oncoming meteor. Sounds cheesy, but that's not the point; the score from the film features the military counting down "10, 9, 8..." as the meteor approaches while nectarean strings flood the background with beautiful chords. You can hear Lelu crying as it it approaches (shortly before, well... watch the movie, it's a good movie). Anyway, the idea to include it at the beginning of this remix was practially genius. And then, in one fell switch of the sampler, the track turns 180 degrees to synth sounds and ensuing dancefloor madness. Classy.
