Chemistry Set’s release Sounds Like Painting is energetic neo-psychedelic jangle pop at it’s best, carrying the listener through the gates and over the hills into a wonderland where their listeners are free to dance beneath the colours of an ever changing sky. These songs don’t ebb and flow, there’s nothing rapturing about them, they aren’t mystic dark or dreamy, nor do they take their time unfolding, they nearly bound straight out of the box full blown and ready to live life to the fullest.

Sounds Like Painting is designed for those moments when the chemicals coursing through your body are at their apex, their zenith, when everything is connected to everything else, when all makes perfect sense, when the light and the sound could never get any better, and those ancient lines from The Beatles never resonated more truly … ”I am you and you are me and we are all together.”

While clocking in at a mere 35 minutes, The Chemistry Set don’t give you much room to breath with their sonic headlong accent into the great unknown, where they intoxicatingly shimmer with bright guitars, front and center vocals, light breezy harmonies, snappy percussions … and then instantly disappear while still at full throttle, leaving you to make your way back to earth on your own.
