It's been a while since I've listened to the actual disc (MP3/FLAC, mostly) but wasn't this disc Enhanced with "built-in" software that let you "Remix" some of the tracks on the album? I remember fooling around with it with a friend of mine. Or... it may have a been something available through/at their Website at the time. Anyone else remember this?

My introduction into Electronic Music...still one of my most favorite albums to this day. I became a DJ into electronic music because of these guys! Thank You TCM :-D
Direbringer
Vega is an all time classic, it's simply the best crafted album that no music lover of any electronic genre should ever be without.
Minnai
The best TCM's album. As for me, "Bad Stone" is the best breakbeat track ever.

My absolute favourite Crystal Method album. These guys are awesome. I love the entire album . . and no matter how many times they are played these songs never get old.Keep Hope Alive is my top song with Busy Child as a close second. But the album is very strong with every song being solid. Loved the electronic sound that TCM created with this album.

I'm surprised the other reviewers don't like this album. I think it's one of the all time best albums ever! The album is overflowing with creativity and filled with so much detail that I still find things that I hadn't noticed years later. The sound ranges from spacey/ethereal/dreamy to intense/harsh/gritty. The album has a lot of breaks and a lot of beats, the songs are arranged well and were designed to flow from one to the next making it easy to listen to the whole album in one go. I'm also a huge fan of the movie 'Dark Crystal' so perhaps that influences my taste. (I've also been unsure what to think about taking a children's movie and using it as an analogy for drug use, but perhaps the musicians identified with the moral of the movie?)

my all-time favorite album. vegas brought big beat to the forefront in america.

'Vegas' was my first Crystal Method CD, after knowing of their existence for a long time. The CD brings together elements of bigbeat and breaks, with some slick trance-like sounds. I wouldn't say that 'Vegas' is worth listening to repeatedly, but it is a classy bigbeat/breaks work. My girlfriend enjoys Fatboy Slim and couldn't resist dancing to this CD. I now want to get 'Legion of Boom' too (that's such a catchy title).

I agree that Vegas was much better than Tweekend, or Legion of Boom. i thought this CD had all the flavor it needed. while Busy Child was seriously played the hell out by EVERYONE, Vaopr Trails was the song that did it for me, Cherry Twist was another fav. I still buy their stuff by the simple fact this was one of the first Cds that made into my techno collection, but i dont like the route they are going now. out of their last 2 production CDs, i think i only liked maybe 5 tunes. Vegas was their meat and potatoes, i think they should head back toward that sound. not stuff like Name of the Game. Born 2 Slow isnt BAD, but its not great either. too bad considering the live show these 2 put out...its INSANE.

I have to agree with DarkSouljah... I think this album is much better than Tweekend. Granted, I haven't listened to Tweekend in detail, but the impression I got was that the tracks were becoming more rock-oriented and less imaginative than the ones on this album. And yeah, this one got a lot of radio play, but as bluebottle notes the version of Trip Like I Do on this album is WAY better than the radio collaboration with Filter. I like basically every track on this album, with the possible exception of Jaded. I also feel that Busy Child is one of the weaker tracks, but that only speaks to how good the rest of the tracks are. Bad Stone has to be my favorite; a perfect closer. And the rest are all fabulous.

i thought this album was great. a great spectrum of mood and sound on the album from chilling beats to more hyper rave tunes. this album defined the true form of the Crystal Method and none of the other work can match this one.
Anasius
Sorry AtomicCow I don't entirely agree. Anyone who's a recent convert is going to view the collaboration on Trip Like I Do as a total mistake (as thw majority of the Spawn soundtrack was) Busychild is one of my least favorite tracks on this one. Not least because it got blasted into my ears over and again on WidpOut. This CD is big beat experimental acid with longer lasting appeal than any of the Chemical Brothers more commercial efforts, but if you really want to own some Crystal Method, buy Tweekend.
Phenade
Does anyone NOT know what this is? I guess it's ok if you are a rock music fan just getting into electronic music but otherwise it's kinda boring. I only like Keep Hope Alive and Busy Child (even though I never listened to it because it was played everywhere). Save your money and download it if you really want to hear it.
