I love the Dells and this lp comes from out the tail end of their early recording period, right before they make the leap to Chess/Cadet records. The song selection is more indicative of their supper club sets from the time and is comprised of soulful/brassy/jazzy takes of standards of the day and also includes their original version of the classic Stay In My Corner. It's nostalgic rather than dated, very enjoyable. This 60th anniversay version is pressed on heavy 180g audiophile virgin vinyl and is masterly engineered. The sound is vibrant and very present - a great replication!
