The Green Martian - Harmonic Minor FLAC

Came across this while going through some old records. The previous review is fair but I would hasten to add that Harmonic Minor is nothing short of genius. No disrespect to Wizardry with its build up and breakdowns, Harmonic Minor doesn't have such pleasantries. It just pounds along with a dark and swirling synth line that just eats in to your brain via your ears. When you get about half way in to it's near nine minutes, you get respite but it's no mere breakdown, it's an almost deconstruction of the tune. Then it starts into a build up toward the main swirling synth. It sounds lighter without the pounding bassline. But that returns soon enough and straight back in to the whole delicious dark mess that your brain has to process all over again.
The thing shouldn't really work as there is no "melody" of which to speak, but it does work and it works well. Like Mark Norman's "Phantom Manor" this has a specific kind of listener in mind, those who like their trance dark and almost acidic in nature with lots of industrial touches. Lots of mere noises strung together to make a dramatic and satisfying whole.

"Wizardry" is without a doubt one of the most amazing tracks every produced. The driving, rolling beats and breakdown are just awesome. The track build up and then just shoots you down. This is a work of art. sheer beauty. It gets me right in the heart! Also check out Hearts by LSG if you like this sound! Thank god for the music makers. We love you!
