Liner notes are © 1954 and include these notes about the recording:
These recordings by Robert Shaw and his Chorale were made in December, 1945 and June, 1946, in the ballroom of the Lotus Club, New York City. The original recordings were made on lacquer discs and have been transferred to tape using High Fidelity transfer methods to enhance the sound.
In enhancing the sound, the frequency and reverberation characteristics have been revised to comply with current tastes in recorded choral sound as reproduced by modern High Fidelity phonographs.
