Don't listen to the haters. My favourite Roses single. The drum solo alone in the Simon Harris remix is excellent. Even the bongo's kicking in and up towards the end. Love it. The only full length version of this mix. The CD cuts it at 5:40 so you are missing the best part.I find myself going back to this LP time and again. It is quality. Very pleased I managed to get a decent copy. For those moaning about the price? The price reflects demand gentlemen. Music has always been subjective.

everyone slagging off the shit remix complaining about the sound needs a lesson in loudness, this twelve features the album mix cut properly, not at the end of a pissy album

Eh? who the hell would buy this 12" for £80+ just for the album version? You can get the best sounding version of this amazing album here https://www.discogs.com/The-Stone-Roses-The-Stone-Roses/release/474585 the whole thing is pressed at 45RPM over two LP'sNever heard this all-time classic album being referred to as 'pissy' before....If its loudness you're after, look no further than the latest remasters, brickwalled to fuck, you will be very happy with those.

For completist collectors only, the tracks that are only available on this release are not worth having. They are that poor. The LP version doesn't need a cowbell and louder bass drum dubbed over the top. These edits just sound cheap. The Fools Gold mixes however, are great and are available on other releases.

It doesn't need it, no, but it doesn't hurt, neither. "Stone Roses" and "stonker" don't often go in the same sentence, but for me it works here.

Exactly this ^ crap remix, massive waste of money, and not even that rare! This release was remixed/sold against the roses wishes, they wouldn't have wanted you to buy it anyway

Could someone who owns this post a you tube video of tge bottom wan remix?

Baffles me why this is worth so much nowadays..."Produced for and on behalf of Dodgy Productions." says it all, Silvertone were cashing in/trying to ruin the Roses at the time when they released this against their wishes, with the absolutely awful remix on side A by simon harris with the lame cowbells and shitty organ etc....At the time when this were out, a lot of shops were selling it off in the weeks following, in the junk bins for 99p (with the art print!)Definitely stick with the classic original LP version......

You can get the Guy Called Gerald mixes on various other releases, just search for them. :)

The Top Won and Bottom Won remixes are both available in CD quality on the 1992 reissue of the Fool's Gold single.

A cash in, yes, a sorry effort by Simon Harris yes. But... that Guy Called Gerald remix - oof. I had a copy of this, sadly it was stolen along with a few hundred other records in Sheffield in the mid 90's and this is one I still miss. I have managee to buy most things I lost that I realky wanted to recover, but not this. Maybe one day I'll find a reasonable price copy.
