Somehow, this song sticks with me over the years. Unexpectedly. In 1991, I found this to be incredibly mediocre...yet somehow it insinuated itself into my memory, seemingly without effort. And almost thirty years later, I now think it's a beautifully written and performed song. Perhaps it's that the teenage mind simply doesn't care as much for quiet nuance as the mind that's experienced the passage of time and the weight of great loss.

It's also worth noting that the "single version" here is a full thirty seconds longer than the album version, it has an additional chorus return at the end. I like the single version better.
