Notes
"These extracts from the epic saga of Cuchulainn were recorded as a live reading/performance, with no retakes or studio effects. The performance recreates a primal story-telling atmosphere, with the magic, humour, and tragedy of ancient Irish poetry in modern English (but Ulster dialect).
The Cuchulainn saga is a collection of poems from ancient Ireland, written out by monastic scribes in the Middle Ages, but dating from a much earlier pre-Christian Celtic culture. The central theme is the life and death of the hero, and the dispute over the sacred land of Ireland between the royal houses of Ulster and Connaught."
Total playing time is about 27 minutes.
