They weren´t copies. Sono rodven had a license from K-tel and they released their compilations using their labels.

Amazing how they got away pirating compiled records in the 80s! Full of hits and totally unofficial! Must have made a mint.

Interesting; though I doubt they were paying royalties on these compilations. I also doubt the artists were even aware of the compilations. Especially considering they are not even considered unofficial releases by the artists.

In fact these compilations were official in this country. Multifranchises were common on local record companies (in this case Virgin-EMI-Warner-Arista were for Sono-Rodven)
