This is a very mixed bag, but I wouldn't be as harsh as the other reviewer (although my copy was picked up for pennies in a closing down sale recently). Some of these reinterpretations are definitely worth a listen, whilst others are 'self-indulgent'. But this is always the case with V/A Tributes on slightly obscure labels! Highlights for me were Dead Or Alive's "Pop Life", H17 "Sign.." and the initially difficult, but pleasantly formulaic, Funker Vogt rendition of "Gett Off", which could've been extended by a couple of minutes for a single. The 'crap' tracks (yes, there are some) include Sigue Sigue's awful attempt, and any other acts here who try to be a Prince sound-alike vocally. Approach this with an open mind and you might be surprised at what you find.....

Pardon my language but if this compilation counts for your money's worth then you should reconsider what the **** might be wrong with you. 'Electro-Goth' here is way under any true attempt paying a suitable tribute to Rock-Funk's father of psychedelia, his royal highness either laughs himself to death at this or considers sueing strategies nailing it down deservedly. Unimaginative, merely formal, pointless sampler - while some of the names sound as tempting it is barely a minimum of their efforts. It largely misses the point and the one it is suppose to make lays in endless self-indulgent battle of ego-trips. Crap. Crap. Crap.
