This is exactly the same record as Unidisc label no. SPEC 1229 (side A) version.
I know this because I own both the records!
Even better: I own the original acetate tape with the remix of Cowley of the Hills and its almost exactly the same as this version..
There are a few minor differences:
1) the acetate is not as long as this remix (12.31 m against 14.00 m).
2) the beginning fades in.
3) only the ending is completely different: with synths-sounds that are not on ANY released albums (the 14.00 or 13.40m (JDC) version).
The acetate (probably made before 1980) has absolutely exactly the same mind blowing fancy synthesizer breaks. So this is why in my opinion the original Cowley remix (after the acetate ofcourse) is the Hot Tracks Hot Classics 4 "Underground Mix".
It looks like the Hills remix was discovered after Cowley died and was released then for the first time by Hot Tracks in 1985.
Think about it: on this Hot Tracks Hot Classics 4 "Underground Mix" (and the probably later released "black" Unidisc 14.00 m remix), the last quarter or so, has almost the same synthesizer part and structure as "Mind Warp". Patrick did probably not release his Hills remix because he wanted to use the synthesizer part/structure for his own album "Mind Warp"... which also became a hit-album!

Unidisc also pressed a rare remix '87 version of Megatron Man which was first pressed in 1986 on the RAZORMAID label chapter D-9 where it is called the '86 remix of Megatron man.
Do not let this fool you: this Unidisc '87 remix is absolutely the same as the '86 remix of Razormaid.

It is very strange to see Unidisc press songs that where exclusively made for Hot Tracks and Razormaid.

Both recs will really blow your mind....
