I grew up in the 80's with a Motown obsessed mother, this box set is fantastic. A few tracks on here I was not familiar with which was a bonus. Madlib did a podcast, now in hindsight, clearly sampling the songs are narration between them. I always wondered where he got this stuff...despite what a different reviewer said, I find the chatter between tracks an awesome touch. Consider this a aural documentary. I personally couldn't care less if Smokey has a few words on the creative process over the first two bars of My Guy.
