Various - Reactivate 8 (Hi-Octane Dance Musik) FLAC

Although i love the reactivate series i think this release is slightly misleading. The best track golden girls - kinetic [frank de wulf mix] is actually more like a dub and not the remix which was cained by sasha and vertigo on its release, im afraid you'll have to dip your hand in your pocket and buy the R&S belgium release which goes for a few £££ on here. That was a big let down for me, what else is there?...united space - hallways a eerie prog trancer which features on sasha 1993 unplugged mix, the infamous horn track which is really a cj bolland remix of Egyptian empire - the horn track, another classic bolland release in the shape of camargue. A good set opener is found in country and western - reincarnations, plays from vertigo @ the ark in 1993. The other tracks are not much to speak of, the sapiano track was played by m-zone a few times in his old warehouse days, but overall this is not a strong release from reactivate largely due to being let down big time on the frank de wulf mix (it should be labelled as a dub)...rant over!

You have to expect a lessening of sound quality / volume when you cram three 6 minute+ tracks on one side of vinyl.Stick with the original 12" if you want top sound quality. These vinyl Reactivates are nice but I always preferred the CD versions for this reason.

Apologees folks i was too caught up in the rant of golden girls - kinetic and viewing this album from a house perspective, that having given this another listen i can concur that i missed some hidden ones here, cant believe i passed over illuminatae - Tempestada!! what was i thinking i should be shot! just heard this again on Dj Azteks Helter Skelter 93 set, lovely spacey trancer. The Robert Armani track is good techno but not his best, and yeh i do need a syringe on those ears!! pligrimage to paradise if im being honest i totally forgot was on this album, big prolekult track back in the day - plays from the hard trance maestro m-zoneAlthough this may sound an excuse, but i think my judgement is slightly clouded by the sound quality in some of the tracks? the pressings seem quite low, anyone else find this? the sapiano track inparticular is really quiet you have to raise the gain loads and the same applies to the united space track?

Clean out your ears!! I second that, this release was quite a nice compilation to be had in 1993 and was arguably the strongest Reactivate to be released at the time. I'm sorry but a collection featuring Jagga - Finito and Sourmash - Pilgrimage could never be mistaken as any sort of a letdown.

Eh Sourmash???????? Jagga?????? Robert Armani?????? Not much to speak of????? Clean your ears out pal!!!
