Japanese and Brazilian press are the same.Bootleg or not. It sounds definitely poor with an awful turntable hum in the dead groove..Stereo image is also altered if you compare the track compiled here and there..Not a hater here, this tune just deserve a great sound and pressing !

Many thanks for the info, truly. I was about to get a copy

It is most likely not to be an official release! The sound quality is fine for me, it sounds like it was reproduced from vinyl, but I also guess it might be taken from the Via Brasil series. It is a pitched up version that can nicely be played, but it’s just a gimmick. It’s looking fine, but why NOT take the original version for a re-issue to present as it really sounds? In my opinion people who like the song will be happy about this 7“, but unfortunately it is recorded too fast.

Appalling sound with a terrible hum throughout and a sound defect about 45 seconds in. Graphic production is also shoddy, has the feel of a bootleg. I have been told that Zé Roberto approved the release, but that doesn't necessarily make it official. It is highly unlikely that Sony (who now own the RCA catalogue) are behind this and certainly not in Japan, as Sony Japan is notoriously averse to these kind of reissues. Furthermore, this was definitively NOT produced in Japan. Copies were bought by Japanese sellers from Brazil, so the Japanese-only gimmick is just a way to distract us from the fact that this is the same as the crappy Brazilian release. If you are expecting a high quality japanese reissue, forget it and at €25 a pop, it is definitely a waste of money.

I'm so sorry and stand corrected -- I'll edit my comment. Glad he's still around!

Sadly, this review is true. It sounds like a boot, and I’m guessing it’s taken from the comp or the YouTube vid given it’s the same speed as both. Aparently the original is a lot slower. Strange low hum before the music starts and a very lifeless, noisey pressing. Some vinyl remasters can be great which is why I’m doubting this comes from an original copy. Save yourself and avoid it.

Maybe Paulo Braga gives a shit about your „mythical status"? It seems that many people are happy with that release, but haters gonna hate. I have to admit i am a bit tired of that (mostly) western elitist „diggers“ that are only happy if they can rant.

it's not a philosophy, it's simply how licensing works. musicians sign contracts with labels that determine the kind of agreement that they have. this includes who owns licensing rights and also who owns author rights, which are different. it is irrelevant what you think of the company, if they own the rights and didn't approve this (or any other release), it is a release in violation of copyright. philosophies are open to interpretation, this is not. regardless of this being official or not, it is an astonishingly poorly produced product so it would be a shame if Zé Roberto himself approved the cheapening of a record with such mythical status.

So if Paulo Braga “passed away seven years ago“ who is running his social media account and his website containing current pictures (!!!), adress, technical rider for shows and other postings?

Interesting: Even if the original composer and artist approved the release – it is “not official“ because a capitalist company like Sony is "not behind it"? Strange philosophy.

Couldn't agree more with your assessment -- this is a poor bootleg from a secondary source...
Arlana
Is this the normal version or the faster version like compiled on the Via brazil comp?
Delari
Japan only release? Whyyyy? gotta type some more words, yo.
