First heard this played by a DJ (on CD) at a Jackie McAuleys' Poormouth gig on St. Patick's Day at Sir George Robey, Finsbury Park, London N4 when it was released. I thought then that this is such a winning formula of punk/funk/dub meets gallic Je ne se quoi that these lot would dominate the charts. Les Negresses Vertes were excellent at this stuff and Famille Heureuse is one of their best tracks; like a hard Gotan Project without the cafe culture. And at the same time Mr. Cook was on top form. Lost the CD years ago but have got excited about it again as I found the 12" in the 50p bin yesterday (30.09.04). All tracks are good but the Dub is the best.
