The Osmonds - One Bad Apple (Norman Cook Remix) FLAC

The note is a little off the mark, particularly as some copies come with a press sheet stating that Polydor would be re-releasing One Bad Apple on 26th September. The reason that this was not commercially released is that The Osmonds contract stated that the record company were not allowed to change their material in any way, meaning that this incredible remix would end up shoved to one side. I guess someone at the record company decided it was worth pressing up a few cheeky copies and risk the wrath of The Osmonds lawyers!

Not at all, this was done tongue in cheek in-house for Polydor's DJ mailing list to promote One Bad Apple. As a laugh and giggle. (I'd like to see the proof that Norman Cook was commissioned and came up with this in-house sourced project as I have some doubts, however I accept that there are certain points/elements that bare hints of his early mad style and that Go-Beat and Go-Discs came under Polydor's wing, providence would be really good).The only reason that DONNY 1 did not have a commercial release was because the project was never intended or mooted as such, it was a pure in-house Parody and fun, and was created purely for their mailing list DJ's to have a bit of fun with in silly/party spots. It was hardly a floor-filler, more a floor clearer it just did not work, The little Jimmy bit clears the floor. (I know because I received this mailing and had goes at working it>>>>absolutely pointless and no I did not chart return it!!) This is hardly a remix as such, and as for incredible, I don't think so, it's a joke-parody. It's a cut chop and shunt edit, using various recordings owned by Polygram, ie: Donna Summer's Bad Girls, little Jimmy O's Long Haired lover (played at 78rpm!) Donny's Puppy Love + Over dubs and voices, such as the old 1950's BBC watch with mother female announcer. it's cleaver but not incredible. Chris Hill (DJ legend, label owner) had been doing this kind of re-edits ten years earlier as "rentasanta" and having chart success.
