Matt Darey - Ibiza Euphoria FLAC

Like the first Euphoria release, this one is highly overrated in my opinion. I don't know, it just doesn't really do much for me as everything here is music we can get on better albums elsewhere and they just stick to the commercial trance that you see anywhere. Don't get me wrong, both discs have some mentions but it just isn't anywhere near as good as Deeper Euphoria or A Higher State of Euphoria released in the same year. I also prefer the mixing of some of the other DJ's such as Red Jerry, PF Project (A Higher State), and even Dave Pearce. The first disc starts off great with Solar Stone's Seven Cities and Agnelli & Nelson's Everyday. Lost Witness' Red Sun Rising also makes an appearance and that track is amazing to say the least, and moving on we get Lost Witness' Happiness Happening and Lost Tribe's Gamemaster. These are pretty much the songs that I loved, and the rest are just decent - but this is mainly because of the remixes they used which I was not a fan of. Matt Darey Presents Mash Up's Liberation is a great song, but I do not really like the Matt Darey mix of it, and same goes for the Paul Van Dyk mix of Cream by Blank & Jones and Liquid Child's Diving Faces (Tom Wax & Jakarta Mix). Those tracks are great but these remixes ruined the experience, and the remaining tracks are just average in my opinion. So overall, a decent experience but not enough to call it good as a whole.The second CD includes some great tracks such as Tilt's Invisible (Tilt's Supernatural Dub), Veracocha's Carte Blanche (Original), The Olmec Heads's Spiritualised (Original), The Thrillseekers's Synaesthesia (En Motion Mix), Sasha's Xpander (Extended) and Hurley & Todd's Sunstorm (Face Off Remix). The last four tracks ruin the ending, as it leaps into house music for no apparent reason or purpose. The mixing again is OK, but I've heard better, and the tracks I have not mentioned are decent, but again, no a fan of Push's Universal Nation '99 (Ferry Corsten Mix), though the original is fantastic. Overall, probably better than CD 1, but it still falls into an average experience.Overall, Ibiza Euphoria is considered to be the best album to many in the Euphoria series, but my vote still goes to A Higher State of... Euphoria (1999), followed by Deeper Euphoria (1999). This one is average at best, but still ahead of the Mind, Body and Soul release.

a fantastic album packed with trance anthem after trance anthem with a little bit of house thrown in for good measure that showcased the sound of summer and ibiza 99, i was a very young dance music fan back then but glad to have been able to enjoy the music, gems such as Solar Stone Seven Cities, Tilt Invisible, and Sasha Xpander for me are the best tracks on here. the fact this album was digitally mixed and wondering how it was done was at the time something very interesting and fascinating for me, i don't know was it even the norm back then but it made the album special for me, same with pure euphoria, now days digitally mixed compilations are to picture perfect for my liking but things move on

I still remember the very day i bought this album. I didnt have turntables at the time so i literally bought every dance compilation that was released throughout this year. Needless to say, after moving a few times, i've lost nearly all of them - including this one, sadly. A great mix, many say this is the best in the Euphoria series, i'd have to agree. It's pure, undiluted trance when it was at its peak. If i still had this i bet even today, this mix would still hold up. The only thing i didnt like about this, is it was digitally mixed (like most mix albums), it would have been nice to just hear Matt mix it with records, turntables and a mixer, for a truly live experience. Although i recall, when this was released, Matt Darey couldn't even mix - he was still learning! Fantastic CD and a really good snapshot of dance music circa 1999.

As a compilation these series were pretty good. Once the sound of electronic started to become more of a household sound, and more and more people started listening to the music outside of the clubs, raves and the scene, the Euphoria became somewhat of the iconic CD's to get... Much better and darker compilations are out there from this Era, but then again, this is a good introduction for the 'newbies' and people who discovered the sounds. I prefer the first half, with pure trance, and better quality prodcutions, as closer as it gets to the end, it just gets tacky...

Matt Darey was the first DJ I really took a liking to when I heard his mix of Mash Up's Beautiful. From there, I explored his compilations, and happily came upon this two-CD set. It was a great find for me because I was fairly new to the genre at the time. Both albums span a great range of artists and really opened my eyes to many new wonderful sounds. This album was instrumental in getting me hooked on trance and electronic music. Now, not every nook and cranny of the either album was to my liking, but both provided many hours of listening. Again and again. Anyone new to the genre, take a look at this CD. Anyone looking for a good pumpin' and smooth ride of electronic music that hits the hots spots of trance over the last few years, I recommend it just as well.

I am also a Matt Darey junkie, so am biased, but this is a fantastic mix and collection of songs. Even 3-4 years later, this album still sounds good.

This is a very good mix. It has alot of the greatest hits of all times on it. Check out the other Ibiza Euphoria albums too.

Many think that this is the best release in the Euphoria series, and even though I am a little biased towards Mat Darey, I would certainly have to agree. 2 CD's of quality, uplifting trance that is masterfully mixed - what more could you want?
